The Cycling Studio at Northampton Bicycle, located in our newly redesigned building, is an indoor cycling studio designed to help increase and maintain off-season fitness when it’s just too icky to be outside. Everything from endurance and training rides to group rides simulated by Google Maps on the beautiful roads around the Pioneer Valley.

No previous experience necessary. A great way to prep for group rides this spring.

Classes start after Thanksgiving.  Online schedule and signup is available. You can also call the shop to sign up for a session(s) 413-586-3810.  Please remember to bring your own bike, any sensors (HR/cadence), and plan to arrive 15 minutes before class to set up.  We have water, towels, fans and the best riding companions anyone could ask for.

Prices: single session $15, pack of 11 $150
Bike Storage for class use $100/season (Nov-April), Have your bike set up and ready to go on demand. Space limited to 10 bikes.

Things you will NEED: We recommend you pickup a trainer skewer and trainer tire, so you don’t destroy your nice ones. Both are available in the shop.
Things you will WANT: Heart rate monitor and Cadence sensor. These will need to be ANT+ compatible, also available in the shop.

Please do not bring dirty bikes into the Studio. BIKES SHOULD BE FREE OF DIRT, MUD, WATER AND DEBRIS.

What is FTP? It’s the number of watts you could sustain for an hour if your life depended on it. We use this number to help guide our training in the cycling studio.
Want to figure out what your FTP number is for training? Here’s your ride.
A few ways to skin this bird…
-A step test where the wattage increases every 5 minutes and you pedal until you just can’t pedal any more OR
-Two 8 minutes intervals as hard as you can OR
-20 minutes as hard as you can
This will give you a more accurate Functional Threshold Power number for training.
