Mari “Mars” Champagne is a Western Mass based artist and spiritual creative. Growing up in Northampton, they were able to discover environments that allowed them to explore and deepen their world of abstract art. Mars has found abstract mixed media art as a means to express emotion, thoughts and location. As an artist Mars creates space for the unspoken in every day life especially with regards to the interwoven chaos, beauty and obscurity in it.
The series “Parallels” started in 2022 as an exploration of space and gridded location. The concept can be seen as an iteration of parallel universes that coexist at the same time as very different, yet very similar spaces. Throughout their time as an artist, Mars has used drips in their work. “Parallels“ is also a deeper exploration of drip work that continues to be a staple in their work. This is an ongoing series and pieces are still being added to this day.
